Huffington Post publishes Favorite Colorado Bands Mix Tape (includes Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, Ian Cooke, more)

Huffington Post just published a new mix tape via Spotify that features their favorite Colorado Bands. We were honored to see Greater Than / Illegal Pete’s acts like Snake Rattle Rattle Snake and Ian Cooke. We are also excited to see a lot of acts who are part of the Illegal Pete’s family like The Photo Atlas, The Gamits, Magic Cyclops, Air Dubai, and Tin Horn Prayer. We recommend giving the mix a listen and chiming in about who is missing from the mix.

Thanks Huffington Post.

The Photo Atlas Pint Glasses are still Available - In All 5 Illegal Pete’s and Online

The Photo Atlas / Illegal Pete’s Pint Glass with a FREE pint of beer (TPA_IP)

Starving Artist Punch Card (12 beers for $20)!

We still have Photo Atlass Pint Glasses and Starving Artist Punch Cards for sale at all 5 Illegal Pete’s locations and online at the links above. Get yours before they are gone forever.

With the Photo Atlas Pint Glass, you will receive a card good for one free beer at Illegal Petes. We sold a ton of the pint glasses this past weekend, but we figured some of you were unable to make it out to the shows. The glasses will also be sold at all 5 Illegal Pete’s this week. We hope to raise nearly $2,000 to help the Photo Atlas record their next album.

The Starving Artist Punch Card will also be available at all 5 Illegal Pete’s locations, but you can buy them online and we will mail it directly to you. 12 beers for $20 is one of the best deal’s I’ve heard of. Consider it a way to check out a few new bars/restaurants/breweries; hell this would make for a great bar golf course. Remember, you are supporting 17 Colorado acts play on a national stage at this year’s South by Southwest.

Pete’s Picks (Show) 3/20/2012 Andrew W.K. at the Bluebird Theater

Ten years ago, a relatively unknown classically trained pianist named Andrew decided to hit himself in the face with a brick. Promptly, someone took a picture and result was one of the most classic and iconic album covers of all time.

That album, Andrew W.K.’s I Get Wet turned 10-years-old this year and Mr. W.K. is celebrating by performing the album in it’s entirety tonight at the Bluebird Theater

Never shy about telling his audience that’s he’s ready to party, the man who penned the hits “Party Hard” and “We Want Fun” will do his best to ensure the Blue Bird turns into a Rock and Roll celebration that few other artists can pull off.

We at Illegal Pete’s are proud to sponsor this event and hope, like Andrew says, “you party til you puke!”

TONIGHT! Every Other Monday Jammer!! TONIGHT! at Illegal Pete’s Downtown

Drinks are poured by J-Bone (justin Cornwell) Good times are had by those that show up!

Drink specials. Food til midnight. Come on down!

Since this falls on every other Monday, make sure you mark down March 19th, April 2nd and so on. We hope to see you there.

Pete’s Picks (Show) 2/18/12 Bad Weather California w/ Night of Joy, Sauna, Stand Up from the Fine Gentlemen’s Club

The evolution of Bad Weather California is not nearly as important as the one that spawned man from a single cell organism but, in some ways, is equally as impressive.

The Denver quartet, releasing their new album, Sunkissed, this Saturday at the Hi-Dive, started many years ago as a much smaller, barely recognizable version of its current form.

At its earliest inception, Bad Weather California was known as the Love Letter Band, the brain-child of frontman Chris Adolf.

Calling Grand Junction their home at the time, The Love Letter Band occupied basements, art galleries, bagel shops and any where else that would have them — playing a quirky and tinkering brand of indie-rock that featured toy pianos, trumpets and even saws.

Several different lineup and a name change later, Bad Weather California has evolved into a full fledged rock band, playing a spaced-out blend of psychedelic throwback and progressive punk.

Sunkissed, while marking yet another direction musically for the band is an important career step for the band as well as it is being released on Akron/Family Tree Records

Illegal Pete’s is excited to present this show and more excited to tell you that we have FREE tickets to this show that will undoubtably sell out. Email us!

Illegal Petes visits Great Divide

Illegal Pete’s Visits The Great Divide Brewery Photos

Illegal Pete’s took a field trip to Denver’s very own Great Divide. Great Divide were kind enough to let us sample their beers, take us on a tour, and ask our questions. Great Divide’s owner even popped into show us a few things. We had a blast. Thanks Great Divide!

We are considering putting a Great Divide Beer on tap at the Illegal Pete’s locations. if you were us, what beer would you put on tap?
